01 Jul 2026 - 31 Jul 2026
The Feast of the Precious Blood of Jesus Christ, celebrated on July 1st, invites us to enter more deeply into the mystery of Christ’s infinite love. The entire month of July is dedicated to the Most Precious Blood. The Precious Blood of Jesus is the price of our salvation. Christ has redeemed us and drawn us away from the power of evil through His Blood. Fr. Wolff reminds us that Jesus, our eternal King, has bought us in a special way through His Precious Blood, and therefore we belong to Him. We are called to live as people who are grateful for such a great gift of love (Grondregels, p. 258).
The Blood of Christ also calls us to conversion and holiness. Fr. Wolff warns us that through sin we reject the grace we have received and “tread underfoot” the Precious Blood of Jesus. This reflection invites us to examine our lives and to choose again the path of faithfulness, purity, and love (Grondregels, p. 186).
The same Jesus who shed His Blood on the Cross continues to give Himself to us in the Holy Eucharist. Fr. Wolff marvels that Christ, the Lord and High Priest, offers Himself to the Father and comes to us in Holy Communion with His Body and Blood, despite our weaknesses and imperfections (Grondregels, p. 265). His love is complete; He gives not only something of Himself, but His very Self for our salvation (Grondregels, p. 237). May the Precious Blood of Jesus cleanse our hearts, protect us in temptation, and lead us closer to His Sacred Heart.

Reflection Question:
Do I recognize the Precious Blood of Jesus as a personal gift of love for my salvation, and do I allow this love to transform my thoughts, choices, and daily life?
Prayer:
Precious Blood, ocean of divine mercy: Flow upon us!
Precious Blood, most pure offering: Procure us every grace!
Precious Blood, hope and refuge of sinners: Atone for us!
Precious Blood, delight of holy souls: Draw us! Amen.
