Message of Bicentenary - Sr. Marykutty Antony, Provincial Superior, Raipur province

Dear Rev. Sr. Innamma Yeruva & Council, Provincial Superiors of Indian Provinces & Regional Superior of Ghana and their Councils and all my dear sisters, very good morning and greetings of Bicentenary year!

Today we the members of the congregation of Jesus Mary Joseph commemorate the 200th foundation day of the Society. Embarking upon the dawn of 200th year as a Congregation, the legacy of 199 years calls us to connect our past to contemporary time; experience gratified feelings of mission, achievements and fond memories of members who rest in the Lord. It brings alive a glimpse of the early history of the Society and helps in comprehending the impact of JMJ Presence to the world at large.

While we stand at the threshold of bicentenary, it’s good to ask, are we satisfied with the impressive life of ours? Do we need to dive deeper in living our charism today? Obviously we turn to the world of the Lord to see, hear and act with the Lord of the world, kindled with passion and pledge to live the charism. On this solemn occasion of inauguration of Bicentenary year, I on behalf of Provincial Council and members of Raipur Province, send vivacious greetings to every member who makes the Congregation.

May these auspicious moments enable us to take our Charism to New places and new places give us new meaning to our charism because our charism is… Ever. Hence it rekindles itself and the legacy of JMJ continues…

Journeying with our Founder, Rev. Fr. Mathias Wolff SJ will categorically pave a way forward in encountering the future as hopeful persons. The Society of JMJ had etched apostolic activities with an impeccable integrity, rowing against the current, giving birth to numerous ennobled persons including the servant of God, Dr. Sr. Mary Glowrey.

We gratuitously remember and admire the loving mite of every member contributed towards the growth of the mission. My eternal gratitude to our beloved Founder Rev. Fr. Mathias Wolff SJ, Pioneer members, Missionaries from and to various countries then and now. My affectionate gratitude to the kindness and generosity of the ennobled congregational leadership whose passionate zeal for mission from 1822 till today is highly commendable.

In conclusion, I quote, the Holy Scripture “Paul planted, Apollos watered and God made it grow”. With this spark in our hearts, lets earnestly search for God’s will, in an ever renewed way, and pray with our dear Founder: Change me into Thyself dear Lord, That I may live in Thee and for Thee alone: may my happiness on earth consist in fulfilling Thy holy will, Amen.

Thank you. Jai JMJ.
